Apple Intros Xserve with Nehalem Processor
Apple unveils it’s updated Xserve featuring Quad-Core Intel Xeon Nehalem processor and an integrated memory controller. It’s powered by up to two 2.93 GHz Intel Xeon processors, up to 3TB of internal storage and RAID 5 support. It’s designed Designed with the environmental in mind and more energy efficiency with 89 percent better performance per watt and eliminates many toxins such as PVC and BFRs. Apple said the new Xserve delivers up to 2x the performance of the previous system It’s available $2,999 for Quad-Core, $3,599 for 8-Core and comes with an unlimited client license for Mac OS X Server version 10.5 Leopard.
